In many ways, Tyrone Cratic Williams ’12 personifies the power of a liberal arts education. He arrived at Edgewood College as part of the first cohort of the Community Scholars program, an initiative that supports Dane County students who have high financial need and a commitment to community service.
Ty Williams ’12 is talking about graduates who, like him, were Community Scholars. That initiative, now in its tenth year, offers full-tuition scholarships to a select group of incoming students committed to academic excellence, community service and leadership development.
Dane County hosted a community conversation about ending racial bias Thursday in Madison. It is part of an ongoing effort to talk about reducing discrimination because of race, gender and other differences people may have.
